Joining a Mastermind Group – Top 5 Reasons

Do I belong to a mastermind group? You bet I do. Two in fact.

In April I went to Fabienne Fredrickson’s MMBW 2010 workshop. It was amazing, the content, the people, the networking and the support. Here are some pictures of our first evening when we were all schmoozing.

I made some close friends over those few days. I also got to spend time with them at our Gold Mastermind meeting in June. Becky Blake of bringing children out of autism in less than three weeks and the incredible Beatrice Johnson of whose professional presence and personal brand are well known to her followers, her business community, and beyond are two of these women that are part of my business growth plan. Becky and I are also accountability partners, calling each other daily to stay on track with our implementations (or trying to, we’re still working out the best time to always connect).

Mastermind has always been a part of my businesses in the past and is an even bigger part of BLITZ Business Success. Here are my top 5 reasons for belonging to my own mastermind groups:

  1. Answers to specific questions that are unique to my business situation
  2. A safe environment to discuss struggles and challenges
  3. Accountability
  4. Encouragement to grow and reach for goals that are outside my comfort zone much faster than I could do alone
  5. A constant and regular opportunity to evaluate what is going great and what needs to be addressed

There are certainly many other reasons to belong to a mastermind group, some very focused (like getting marketing support), some very broad (like staying connected to like-mined people), and others its about getting successful quicker to be able to spend more time with family. We have all heard the saying “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know” and this is certainly true in business. Belonging to a group like a mastermind gives you connection to people that can help you succeed in business.

You can start a business on your own but you cannot succeed in business by yourself.
